A-25 cabintop bow

Post by NickScheuer »

This can't be a new problem, a cracked overhead bow aft of the helm. How do folks fix that?

An AS-25 I looked at a couple of years ago had a broken bow, among other serious fibergalss issues. My new (to me) Albin has a small crack which appears to have been mended, but not well enough to keep it from cracking again.

I'm thinking I need to add a transverse Oak gusset, about 2" deep (vertical) X 1" (fore-&-aft), clear across the bow, sheatherd in fiberglass, in order to creat a deeper shape than the roughly 1"-deep bow.
