2000 28TE Cockpit fresh water washdown leak

Post by CruisetheCoast »

How do I get to the water hose to troubleshoot a leak when the water pump is on? I did replace the spicket, but it seems to be leaking from behind the fiberglass wall.

Welcome aboard!
Can you post a photo of the faucet location? They aren't in the same place on every boat.

Remove the drawer assembly from under the seat, and possibly the speaker also depending on what you see.

There is an access panel at the end of the small berth you may be able to reach it from - otherwise I’d think it’s a case of getting in under the deck.

Or….

Where is it leaking from - is it the base where the faucet simply screws in? If so, take it out and put some ptfe tape on the thread and reassemble.

When I replaced the faucet I did use the ptfe tape on the thread, there is also an O ring inside the faucet. Next steps will be to try going thru the panel in the small berth and also the speaker or drawer. Thanks for the suggestions.

Here you go. Currently chasing a leak in 70mm winds here and driving rain.

Found the leak but thought this would be of use to you.

Got it fixed, pulling port berth ceiling off then the small panel easy access to the water connection to the wash down faucet. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
